  4. The purpose of the game is to clear the screen of dots
  5. while avoiding the nasties.
  6.  
  7. However by eating one of the pulsating energy pills, the roles are reversed
  8. for a short time and you can gain points by catching the fleeing monsters.
  9.  
  10. When the screen is cleared you proceed to the next level.
  11.  
  12. Collect goodies, that appear every now and then, to gain bonus points.
  13.

  16.                 Read the info screen when you exit the game

  29. Move around the Menu with the cursor keys, choose item either by the
  30. up and down keys or the first letter of your choice.

  32. At any point any time you can always return to the Menu by pressing ESC.
  33.  
  34. If you exit from gameplay with ESC you can always continue your game by
  35. choosing CONTINUE.

  54. The highscore table shows the ten best scores, the players name and the time
  55. and date the game was played.
  56. It also holds these entries for the last player ( or players if the last game
  57. was a two-player game ).
  58.  
  59. The highscore table is contained in the file HIGHSC.CDM.
  60. If you want to start over with an empty highscore table you can simply
  61. delete the file and CD-MAN will create a new one with the current
  62. date and time and reasonably low scores.

  64. OBS!  The highscore table will only be saved if you exit the game with the
  65.       QUIT option in the menu!

  79. If you press the spacebar at the highscore table you will see the
  80. statistics table.

  82. The entries are:

  84. Active game time  -  The time the game was actually played, that is the time
  85.                      spent in the menu, help screens and so on is not included.
  86.  
  87. Screen / Level    -  The number of screens reached and the level on the
  88.                      last screen.
  89.  
  90. Average speed     -  A measure of the average speed relatively to the other
  91.                      players.
  92.  
  93. Moves made        -  Total number of moves made, one move being the distance
  94.                      between two dots.

  96. Monsters / Bonus  -  Total number of monsters resp. bonuses taken.

  104. Each screen has three levels.
  105. They differ in difficulty and bonus points.

  107. The agressiveness of the monsters increases as well for each screen.

  129. In this pre-release there is an endless life function for testing purposes.

  131. The endless life will only work in one player mode.

  133. At any point during gameplay you can press F1 ( that is the first function key )
  134. to gain endless life, you will still 'die' as usual but the number of lifes
  135. will not be decremented.
  136.  
  137. If you press F1 a second time you will be mortal again and so on...
  138.  
  139. There is no way ( exept dying ) to see what mode you are in, so you'll have
  140. to keep track of that yourself.
  141.  
  142. At the start of a new game endless life is always off.
